In what might be one of my weaker moments, I decided to file a speaking submission for two different events, in two different countries on two consecutive days. Nevertheless I’m excited to announce that I’ll be speaking at SharePoint Saturday UK on November 9, 2013 in Hinckley (UK).
Last year I went on a road trip with Marijn Somers to Nottingham. Although I wasn’t speaking at the time, I had a hell of a good time. Great sessions, great crowd and a lot of familiar faces. I’m also confident that Brett, Tony and Marc will not disappoint us this year either. They have some 40 sessions lined up in many different tracks.

The session I’ll be presenting is:
We’ve all seen those next-next-finish demos of connecting SharePoint to ADFS. Just a few lines of PowerShell and you’re done, right? Not really. When you choose to implement SAML claims with SharePoint (because that’s what it is) there are a number of difficulties that you’ll need to overcome. The people picker doesn’t work anymore, user profile import becomes more complicated and even using some SharePoint apps will be problematic. We’ll also cover the infrastructure side like making it work with host named site collections, reverse proxy servers and federation with other user directories.
